One of the most knows celebrity sports stars Tom Brady, born “Thomas Edward Brady, Jr.”, was born on the 3rd of August, 1977, is an American football player who plays as a quarterback. His team, the New England Patriots, is the only professional team where he has played, and Brady is at his tenth season with them, after being picked in the 2000 sixth round of drafting. As an athlete, Tom Brady is very successful – along with his team, he has played in four Super Bowl games and has won no less than three. He was also invited to take a part in six Pro Bowls, and has played in five of them (with the 2006 edition that he refused), and he has won two Super Bowl Most Valuable Player Awards (out of the three that he has won along with his team). Brady currently holds the National Football League title for most passes to end in a touchdown in a regular single season. Brady is also featured as having the 5th largest passer rating for all of his career, with a huge 94.9. He and his teammates also worked together in order to make the New England Patriots the record holder for most consecutive wins – with 21 victories spanning through two seasons. Tom Brady’s prolific career is filled with achievements that have turned him into one of the most successful football players in the world.

Let’s have a quick look at what Tom Brady has to brag about when it comes to football:

- As we have previously said, celebrity football player Tom Brady is the lucky holder of no less than three Super Bowl rings, and he has been selected to play into the Pro Bowl six times.

- Brady holds the NFL all time record for the most passes that ended with a touchdown. He is the best all-time career passer in the world, with a 94.9 score, out of all of the quarterbacks with more than 1,500 passing attempts. That’s an impressive feat for a rookie, let alone a seasoned veteran.

- He has been named the “Sportsman of the Year” twice, in 2007 and earlier on in 2004, by the “Sporting News”. In 2007 he was also named the NFL Most Valuable Player. Also in 2007, he was the “Male Athlete of the Year”, a distinction awarded to him by the Associated Press (this was also the first time that a professional football player had been awarded with this prize since Joe Montana in 1990). In addition to these awards he was also named “Sportsman of the Year” by famous sports magazine Sports Illustrated, back in 2005.

- He is a key player for the team where he has been playing for the past ten years: the New England Patriots. He helped build the record-breaking 21 victories in a row back in the 2003-2004 season.

- He made the first team on the All-Pro Selection in 2007, and the Second team All-Pro selection in 2005.

- He was named the Offensive player of the year in 2007.

- He was inducted into the 2000s All-Decade Team.

- His career statistics are quite a sight, as he has numerous accomplishments. He managed to score 4,363 pass attempts, out of which he completed 2,956 – that gives him a 63.7% success rate.

Tom Brady came into the world in 1977, near San Francisco, California, in the town of San Mateo. His Parents, Tom Senior and Galynn are Irish-American. Throughout his youth and childhood, Montana was a 49ers fan, and he thought of Joe Montana particularily as an idol. In college, he played for and studied at the University of Michigan, where he was a backup. He did not get nearly enough play time during his college years, and because of this he even thought of getting transferred to another university. In the first year when he made the first team he set numerous records, like the record for most pass attempts, and even for most completed passes. In his senior year he managed to become captain of the team and he lead his team to victory in eighty percent of the matches that he played in.

In 2000 it was time for Brady to make it in the big league and go professional. And, contrary to what you might expect with a star of this caliber, Tom wasn’t among the first picks – in fact, he was a hundred and ninety-ninth to be picked by the New England Patriots. The team had two quarterbacks to choose from (and, as a bizarre choice, the Patriots started the season with four quarterbacks instead of three, in order to make room for Brady, who was the fourth quarterback). Before the season ended, Brady climbed his way up to second position among quarterbacks.

The second season started with two games filled with bad luck for the Patriots. Brady didn’t make the first team in the first two matches, but in the second game, when Drew Bledsoe (the starting quarterback for the team) was badly hurt, Brady stepped in and took over as starting quarterback. He remained the starter until Bledsoe returned, at the beginning of the next season. In the 2001 season when Brady started to be starter for the team, he didn’t live up to expectations, and his first two matches were very unimpressive, with poor to average performance and one loss. It wasn’t until the fifth game that Tom began to find his game, and impress everybody with a series of great games and impressive performance.

Since the next season, Tom Brady has always been the starting quarterback for the New England Patriots, and his career grew with his game to impressive new heights. With each passing year his team relied more and more on him, and he didn’t disappoint.

With a career filled with accomplishments, records and achievements, and a personal life that shows Tom Brady to be one of the most charitable sportsmen in the world, Celebscope can safely say that he’s a celebrity model to be followed.
