Cody Linley Biography

Cody Linley is an actor, a singer and a rapper. He was born in November of 1989, and he is probably most well known for starring in several Disney TV series, such as the popular kids’ show “Hannah Montana”. More recently, he was a celebrity contestant for a popular show called “Dancing With the Stars”, a show that pairs celebrities with ordinary people in a dancing contest. For the contest, he was paired with Julianne Hough.

Linley was born in the Texas town of Lewisville, and the first time he ever performed in a movie was in 1994, when the five year old Cody Linley was cast in “Still Holding On: The Legend of Cadillac Jack”. The year 2000 was very prolific for the young actor, as he had small roles in no less than four different movies that opened that year: the popular “Miss Congeniality”, “My Dog Skip”, “Where the Heart Is”, and the Chuck Norris action flick “Walker, Texas Ranger”. By 2003 he had also appeared in two other films: “When Zachary Beaver Came to Town”, and “Cheaper by the Dozen”. These first films ranged from $3 million dollar budget films to a whopping $45 million budget. They took him all over the country, and gave him the opportunity to really learn a lot about the movie industry. These projects were chosen with great care, and Linley performed in blockbusters as much as he did in smaller, independent movies.

Cody Linley has also shown great acting skills, particularly in being able to perform numerous roles: in the movie “Hoot”, he is “Mullet Fingers”, a rebel who creates havoc and mischief, a boy who opposes the company that tries to ruin a lot that is home to numerous owls in order to build a pancake house. For one of his other films, “Rebound”, he plays the antagonist, Larry Burgess Jr., the basketball rival for the nerds – the main characters in the movie. In Cheaper by the Dozen, he is the “bad guy” yet again, playing the bully who terrorizes Steve Martin’s children.

In recent times, Cody Linley was cast in the popular kids’ show Hannah Montana with Miley Cyrus, as Jake Ryan, and he appeared as a regular for nine episodes. In 2008, he continued his partnership with Disney, as he co-hosted the 2008 Disney Games. Linley also gained notoriety in 2008 when he appeared on Dancing With the Stars. After nine whole weeks, in which he was paired up with two different female partners, Julianne Hough, his partner, was voted off the show. It was an impressive achievement, as he went all the way to the semifinals before getting kicked off.

And now for some random Cody Linley facts: he has one brother and three step-brothers, and he is an avid basketball player. He loves music, from country to rock and hip hop. He and his best friend, Roshon Fegan, make popular YouTube videos. He is also a close friend to MItchel Musso, Miley Cyrus and Emily Osment.
