Career on Hold, Life at a Mess Spells Schwarzenegger

While news about former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is still fresh in the minds of many people particularly the media, he is putting his career on hold and he will not be coming back to the Hollywood yet. He stated that he wanted to put things on hold while he is sorting out his life and perhaps prepare his scripts for his leading role in a divorce battle though this has not been finalized just yet.

The former governor and Hollywood “Terminator” star has admitted that he fathered a child out of the family’s housekeeper. The latter has been working for the family for a very long time already. Mr. Schwarzenegger told his agency to postpone all his pending movie projects. According to recent reports, he was focusing on his personal problems.

It was said that he is not willing to commit anything on any movie production either – at least at this moment. Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver earlier separated with uncertain reasons. Divorce was not a subject between them though this may change soon because of the recent fact that Schwarzenegger is now fathering a 13-year old kid with the family’s housekeeper and kept this from his wife until just recently.

It was said that Shriver has hired a prominent and one of the best divorce attorney of Los Angeles. If the divorce proceedings are pursued, Shriver is said to gain much money from Schwarzenegger. Thus, Schwarzenegger is not only facing the divorce of his life but also facing a great loss from his finances.

Schwarzenegger apparently appeared to have embarrassed Shriver which greatly enhanced the chances of getting remuneration at the negotiations for the settlement.

California is one of the states that have no-fault divorce policy which means to say that Schwarzenegger’s action cannot be used against him in court proceedings. However, this doesn’t mean to say that it won’t be – which is according to some lawyers.

Maria Shriver, according to recent reports, will receive not less than $100,000 a month for spousal and child support. This is because even though the California state has the no-fault divorce policy every judge will know what happened thus Maria will be a major representation of a sympathetic spouse.

In view of prenuptial agreements, the division of properties will be affected including the mansion where Shriver and the kids moved into. This is if they signed a prenuptial agreement when they got married in 1986.

What’s going to happen with Schwarzenegger and Shriver divorce is beyond us. What indeed will the outcome be for this couple?
